Once upon a time…

…there was a lady called Katie. She had an exciting career in tourism. She took the VisitScotland brand all over the world and worked hand in hand with academics who brought large conferences to Scotland.  She built up an excellent reputation as a public speaker.  But for as long as she could remember, her head had been full of stories.  Now more than ever, she was passionate about stories as a way to entertain, unlock powerful emotions, as a way to improve literacy in young children, and build confidence in adolescents.  She retrained as a storyteller. And that’s where this story really begins…

Katie Proven is a storyteller based in the outskirts of Glasgow.  She enjoys telling traditional Scottish folk tales to a variety of audiences, such as guests at a gala dinner, pre-schoolers, school-age children, adults, and residents in care homes. 

Katie can tailor her storytelling around particular themes and occasions.  She can also share stories that are relevant to specific geographical locations.
